I can't find my library card, how do I get a new one?

Do not worry if you have temporarily mislaid or lost your card, we can help with that, but it is important to let us know.

Answer

If you know the number you can continue to use the card number for online access to your account via the catalogue and eResources via the Books and Resources page on our website. You can also use our new click and collect service or book a PC by quoting the number when you contact one of our available libraries.

If you do not know the number we can tell you what it is. To protect your personal data we will need to verify your identity before giving you the number on your existing library card.

If you don't know the number you can obtain your existing card number by:

  • starting a live chat in the window on the right of this page during library opening hours
  • contact one of our available libraries by phone during opening hours

You will be asked to answer a series of questions about yourself and your library account to confirm your identity. If we cannot reply immediately we will do so as soon as we can.

If it has been over three years since you used your card or you have not been a member of Nottingham City Libraries before you can join the library online or at one of our libraries in person
