What are the Nottingham City Council proposed budget cuts and how do I tell you what I think?

This answer applies to the £50 million gap in the council finances next year, 2024/25, which will have a major impact on its services. This includes the library service.

Answer

The Public Consultation survey has now closed

A report to the council’s Executive Board on 19 December 2023 set out a range of initial proposals to make the savings needed to close the budget gap and balance the budget for 2024/25, which is a legal requirement for all councils.

Officers have put forward various savings proposals for consideration by councillors, and as part of the process these proposals were subject to public consultation. The results are now being processed.

There is a proposed review of library funding and as soon as there is more information this FAQ will be updated
